finding balance through conscious living

[Recipe] Turkey, Fish and Guinea Fowl, Raw Dog Food Recipe

raw dog food

About This Meal

This raw meal is higher in organ meat and fat, and low in muscle meat. Every meal should be fed as a part of a balanced raw diet of 80% muscle meat, 10% bone and 10% organ. While these percentages can vary from meal to meal as you see here, your dog’s overall diet should stay true to the needed percentages.

Who This Meal is For

This meal is for dogs who need high amounts of fat in their diet. Dogs with fast metabolisms or who are very active need higher fat diets. A diet of 25% (or more) fat is needed for some dogs, while others only need 15-20% fat in their diet.

Feed fat to tolerance. This means that your dog should not show any signs of digestive upset or have loose stools while eating a higher fat diet. Their stools should be firm.

Recommendations

I highly recommend that when you buy fat such as back fat or caul fat, that you buy the highest quality you can find. This fat is from grass-fed cows, making it extremely healthy.

When any animal eats foods that contain chemicals or chemical residues and the body stores fat from any of those meals, the chemicals are stored in their body fat as well.

Description

This meal is high in fat and high in organ meat. Feed this meal as a part of a balanced diet. These ingredients are all from grass-fed, pastured and naturally-raised animals.

Ingredients

1 Turkey Head

Beef Pancreas (underneath)

4 Guineafowl Feet

Turkey Hearts

Caul Fat

3 Mullet Fish

5 Quail Eggs

1 Drop of Iodine

Instructions

Thaw food for 2-4 hours (as needed).

Feed eggs whole as a complete source of nutrition.

Feed fat to tolerance.

Combine ingredients in bowl and serve.

Notes

This meal is for a 100 lb. dog that eats one meal per day for the purpose of intermittent fasting. Divide portions as needed for different sized dogs and for your dog’s number of daily feedings.

Every dog is different. While these ratios of bone, fat, organ and muscle meat are ideal for my two dogs, you may need to play around with these ratios for your dog. For example, your dog may need less fat or more bone.
